Um lugar intrigante que nos lembra os Alpes Suíços uma atmosfera acolhedora e uma moderna estação de esqui, com chalés no estilo alpino, restaurantes e canhões de neve. Conhecer este lugar nas montanhas Maluti é de fato acreditar que existe algo de mágico no lugar, porque encanta aos olhos e nos faz viajar através da paisagem considerada uma das mais belas do mundo. A África carrega tanto lugares de expressões místicas que estar aqui, também é ter a sensação de entrar em contato com esta magia. Aqui em Kapoko Afriski nas montanhas Maluti é estar vivenciando um desses fatos inexplicáveis que só a própria natureza pode nos proporcionar e revelar. É algo incrível! E também impossível de descrever. Considerada atualmente um dos lugares turísticos mais visitados no inverno. A Estação de esqui é a grande atração turística do lugar. Sem falar da linda visão do Sol africano que ficará para sempre guardada na nossa memória. Um lugar multicultural aqui você se esbarra nas neves com austríacos, franceses, espanhóis, italianos e até japoneses, ou seja, alguns deles dizem; ser trabalhadores expatriados na África, que nesta época retornam para deslizar pelas pistas do AfriSki. Enquanto estávamos explorando o lugar descobrimos que muitos sul- africanos não sabem que podem esquiar perto de seu próprio país. Imagina em outros países de outros continentes, que também não tem a menor ideia de que existe uma estação de esqui na África.
Um complexo que procura atrair o turismo através das belas paisagens vistas a 200 quilômetros da Savana e a três mil metros de altitude, o Reino do Lesoto onde abriga a única estação de esqui da África Subsaariana. Também não podemos esquecer que cruzamos ao longo do caminho com pastores envolvidos em cobertores de lã grossa que cuidavam do gado nas encostas da montanha, salpicada de povoados. Que ao longe se podem ver nas modestas e tradicionais casas circulares com telhados de palha que servem de abrigo aos aldeões. Uma imagem que nem nos meus maiores sonhos eu poderia acreditar um dia realizar. Um cenário totalmente exótico dentro dos padrões turísticos na África. A sensação sempre será de que, eu estava verdadeiramente nos Alpes Suíços é como estar em dois lugares, sendo um só. As baixas temperaturas do inverno austral garantem neve nas montanhas do Lesoto, sendo que a melhor época para esquiar está entre Julho e Agosto. A economia local agradece, devido ao grande potencial de crescimento turístico no local. A neve é considerada um nicho de crescimento econômico, junto aos outros roteiros turísticos no Continente africano, com grande potencial econômico. Com uma moderna pista de esqui, com uma diversidade de bares, restaurantes e teleféricos. Antes de nos despedimos daquele lugar incrível, fomos conhecer o Reino Lesoto que é considerada uma das últimas monarquias existentes na África. Um povo acolhedor, que guarda seus antigos costumes, ou seja, eles destacam que se orgulham de manter viva até hoje suas tradições. Para nós ficaram, a certeza de que a ancestralidade africana guarda na sua essência o segredo da origem humana. Um mistério ainda não revelado, mais distribuídos em cada país do Continente africano.

LESOTHO THE SKI RESORT

An intriguing place that reminds us of the Swiss Alps, a cozy atmosphere and a modern ski resort, with alpine-style chalets, restaurants and snow cannons. Knowing this place in the Maluti Mountains is actually believing that there is something magical about the place, because it enchants the eyes and makes us travel through the landscape considered one of the most beautiful in the world. Africa carries so many places of mystical expressions that being here is also having the feeling of getting in touch with this magic. Here in Kapoko Afriski in the Maluti Mountains, it is like experiencing one of those inexplicable facts that only nature itself can provide and reveal. It’s an amazing thing! And also impossible to describe. Currently considered one of the most visited tourist places in winter. The ski resort is the main tourist attraction of the place. Not to mention the beautiful view of the African Sun that will be forever stored in our memory. A multicultural place here you bump into Austrians, French, Spanish, Italians and even Japanese, that is, some of them say; to be expatriate workers in Africa, who at this time return to glide along the slopes of AfriSki. As we were exploring the place we discovered that many South Africans are unaware that they can ski near their own country. Imagine in other countries on other continents, which also have no idea that there is a ski resort in Africa.
A complex that seeks to attract tourism through the beautiful landscapes seen 200 kilometers from the Savanna and at an altitude of three thousand meters, the Kingdom of Lesotho is home to the only ski resort in Sub-Saharan Africa. Nor can we forget that along the way we crossed paths with shepherds wrapped in thick woolen blankets who tended their cattle on the slopes of the mountain, dotted with villages. An image that not even in my wildest dreams I could believe one day to come true. A totally exotic setting within the tourist standards in Africa. The feeling will always be that I was truly in the Swiss Alps is like being in two places, being one. The low temperatures of the southern winter guarantee snow in Lesotho’s mountains, and the best time for skiing is between July and August. The local economy thanks you, due to the great potential for tourist growth in the place. Snow is considered a niche for economic growth, along with other tourist routes on the African continent, with great economic potential. With a modern ski slope, with a variety of bars, restaurants and cable cars. Before saying goodbye to that amazing place, we went to know the Kingdom of Lesotho which is considered one of the last existing monarchies in Africa.
