Na realeza da África, um reino africano. Uma princesa no mundo dos negócios. Ronke Ademiluyi é uma princesa real, da vida real. Para mim é uma honra poder trazer até o meu país, a história e a sua trajetória profissional. Ela nasceu em um berço sagrado, que para muitos pode ser uma lenda, mais que na realidade é a pura verdade. Ícone da moda africana, a princesa Ronke Ademiluyi é considerada uma das mulheres mais influentes no Continente africano e na Europa. Ela faz história e redesenha o futuro da moda na África e no mundo dos negócios. Ronke Ademiluyi é um dos nomes mais influentes da moda mundial. Tendo uma liderança feminina no Continente africano, Ronke Ademiluyi é visionária e empoderada. Ela é pioneira e inovadora quando o assunto se trata da indústria da moda e a cultura na África. A princesa acredita no grande potencial da indústria da moda no Continente africano. Conquistou notoriedade na Europa quando criou e fundou o AFWL o maior evento anual de moda africana no Reino Unido e da Europa inspirada na África. Na Nigéria também foi criado o mesmo modelo do evento o AFWN com o intuito de apresentar designers de moda talentosos que permanecem em grande parte desconhecidos, com o objetivo de fortalecer e desenvolver ainda mais a competitividade internacional da indústria da moda da Nigéria. Ela é uma mulher à frente do seu tempo, que busca nas suas raízes ancestrais mais motivos para impulsionar o crescimento cultural, turístico e empresarial na África. A princesa Ronke Ademiluyi é CEO e fundadora do Adire Oodua Textile Hub em Ile Ifé, Sudoeste da Nigéria que tem uma história ancestral de herança rica dentro do Continente africano. Ela também é vice-presidente da fundação House of Oduduwa, que é a instituição de caridade oficial de Sua Majestade Imperial Ooni de Ifé. Embaixadora Global do QMA internacional da Rainha Moremi Ajasoro. Fundou o Programa de liderança QMA para mulheres jovens. A Princesa também atua dentro da educação escolar. Onde foi editora do livro a história autêntica da lendária Rainha Moremi que está sendo usada como parte do currículo de história e literatura em escolas secundárias na Nigéria. Ela é Co- fundadora do Fashion Future Online Courses em parceria com a Henleys Business School UK & Parsons Design School New York. Ela também montou o esquema AFWL Mentoring para estudantes de moda negra no Reino Unido em parceria com a Northampton University no Reino Unido. A Princesa Ronke é uma escritora reconhecida e famosa, a obra UNSPOKEN é um testamento da força e da monarquia feminina africana. É também co autora da obra de moda africana The Eyes of Originality & Creativity. Dentro da cultura seus trabalhos se destacam na produção executiva e criação da produção do musical da Rainha Moremi que foi assistido por mais de 30.000 pessoas. A Princesa também é a produtora do documentário Ingenious Aso Oke fabric of Nigéria. Recentemente a Princesa foi nomeada Embaixadora Global da Ayan Agalu. Aqui a Princesa Ronke Ademiluyi mostra ao mundo o papel da mulher africana no mundo dos negócios.
Entrevista Exclusiva para o Brasil
EO – Quem é a Vossa Alteza Princesa Ronke Ademiluyi?
PRA – Eu sou uma princesa do Grande Reino de Ifé, de onde vem o Progenitor da raça Yorubá. Eu sou uma grande descendente de Oduduwa o Progenitor da dinastia Yorubá.
EO – Me fale mais sobre esta dinastia?
PRA – Oduduwa foi o 1º Ooni de Ifé, o grande e antigo reino de Ifé remonta a mil anos atrás e o Marido de Olokun e, eu vim dessa linhagem.
EO – E sobre o antigo reino de Ifé?
PRA – O Reino de Ifé é um dos primeiros reinos da África que teve reis e rainhas e dinastia real, nossa realeza remonta a séculos atrás antes do cristianismo e isso podemos mostrar através de nossas escrituras de Ifá.
EO – Na Nigéria existem muitas tribos, e cada uma delas tem sua família real. De que reino a Princesa Ronke Ademiluyi pertence?
PRA – Eu sou uma princesa da fonte como Ifé é considerada o lar espiritual e fonte de todos nós negros, meu bisavô era um rei de Ifé e eu tenho um estreita relação com Sua Majestade Imperial Ooni Adeyeye Ogunwusi Ojaja II, o atual Rei do Reino de Ifé e eu trabalho com ele em tantos projetos, e hoje eu sou uma embaixadora cultural.
EO – Me conte sobre a importância de Ifá para os africanos?
PRA – Ifá é a religião tradicional africana que costumávamos adorar a Deus todo-poderoso antes do cristianismo e do islamismo, é tão antiga quanto o judaísmo e da mesma forma que a religião católica tem santos, temos os Orixás que atuam como nossos santos e interface entre Deus todo-poderoso e o homem.
EO – A Princesa pode nos contar um pouco sobre a história verdadeira da realeza na África? Sei que no Brasil como em outros países, existe um mundo imaginário quando se trata da monarquia africana.
PRA – Então nossa Monarquia da África remonta a milhares de anos atrás, foi o colonialismo ocidental durante a disputa pela África que desativou a maior parte do poder de nossos reis e rainhas e também durante o comércio de escravos. Também quando tantos membros da realeza africana foram capturados e vendidos como escravos.

EO – Existe de fato o poder feminino dentro da realeza africana?
PRA – Sim, há poder feminino na realeza africana que remonta ao século XII, muito antes do Ocidente começar a instalar mulheres como monarcas. Recentemente, escrevi e publiquei um livro intitulado Oba Obinrin, que mostra poderosas mulheres Yorubás que reinaram como reis.
EO – Eu sempre soube da existência de mulheres fortes e poderosas no Continente africano. Por que, a mídia e a sociedade sabe bem pouco sobre elas?
PRA – Meu livro foi nomeado Upspoken Oba Obinrin, devido ao fato de que seu reinado e grandes conquistas não foram falados e muitas pessoas em nossa geração não falam sobre esses grandes Mulheres Antigas e essa foi uma das razões pelas quais decidi escrever um livro sobre elas, para que as mulheres africanas pudessem se inspirar nelas.
EO – A concepção da história da Rainha Moremi é um resgate ancestral neste sentido? Sobre o poder feminino dentro da história africana?
PRA – A iniciativa Rainha Moremi foi fundada por Sua Majestade Imperial para possibilitar como uma homenagem à lendária Rainha, alguns edifícios icônicos e residências receberam o nome dela. E através desta iniciativa também foi criado, uma possibilidade para nos permitir devolver mais em seu nome. Publiquei um livro sobre a lendária Rainha Moremi, que está no currículo das escolas do sudoeste da Nigéria. O livro também foi adaptado para uma peça de teatro musical.

EO – A Princesa Ronke Ademiluyi é fundadora do Adire Oodua Textile Hub em Ile Ifé, Sudoeste da Nigéria. Conte um pouco sobre a história do tecido?
PRA – O tecido Adire é um tecido de herança que remonta a séculos atrás e que ainda é relevante em nossa geração atual, é uma bela técnica que foi criada usando diferentes métodos para criar belos padrões em tecidos e usando vários métodos de resistência para resistir ao corante quando o tecido é eventualmente tingido. Os métodos resistentes incluem o método resistente a pontos, o método resistente a nós com fio, o método resistente a cera e o método resistente a amido. Esta antiga tecnologia de criação de tecidos nos permite criar tantos padrões, símbolos e sinais em nossos tecidos, e também nos permite contar histórias diferentes em nossos tecidos.
EO – A Princesa é também a Embaixadora Global do QMA internacional da Rainha Moremi Ajasoro. Me conte mais sobre o Global do QMA?
PRA – Criei o programa de liderança QMA que é presidido por nossa Yeye Moremi Olufunso Amosun, a ex-primeira-dama do Estado de Ogun. O programa que inclui um concurso cultural, um campo de treinamento e cujos vencedores surgem anualmente e são dotados de fundos e habilidades que os ajudarão a se tornarem melhores jovens líderes em suas comunidades e no mundo em geral. Eles também atuam como embaixadores de intercâmbio cultural no Reino Yorubá.
EO – A Princesa também criou um fundo QMA que educa e capacita jovens senhoras na Nigéria e na África. Como funciona o fundo QMA de educação?
PRA – No âmbito da iniciativa, criei este fundo que ajuda mulheres jovens com bolsas de estudo e capacita mulheres jovens com bolsas de empreendedorismo.
EO – A campanha realizada pela Princesa em 25 de abril de 2020 com a iniciativa QMA para alertar contra a escravidão moderna e o tráfico de mulheres jovens na Nigéria e na África. É o começo de algum projeto?
PRA – Sob a iniciativa QMA, fazemos campanha contra a escravidão moderna das jovens africanas, trabalhamos em estreita colaboração com aqueles que passaram por uma prova tão horrível e ajudamos a reintegração de volta a sociedade. A primeira vítima com quem trabalhamos quando iniciamos este projeto em, que voltou do Oriente Médio em 2016, agora é formada e casada. Sob nosso esquema de bolsas de educação, conseguimos enviá-la para a Universidade, sob nosso programa de empreendedores, ela recebeu habilidades e fundos para montar seu próprio negócio de pequena escala.
EO – Quando falamos sobre QMA não temos ideia de quanto ele é importante e real dentro do Continente africano. Como surgiu a ideia das bolsas QMA?
PRA – A bolsa de empreendedorismo QMA faz parte do nosso programa onde ajudamos mulheres jovens com bolsas de financiamento para ajudá-las no desenvolvimento sustentável. Há tantos jovens desempregados no momento e as mulheres são muito vulneráveis, então, ao ajudá-los com os subsídios, eles poderão iniciar seus próprios negócios e ter confiança. Em um futuro próximo, pretendemos criar um banco de micro finanças QMA onde as mulheres possam ter acesso a empréstimos, pois a pesquisa mostra que as mulheres são as melhores emprestadoras, elas sempre pagam de volta.
EO – A Princesa também teve e tem um apoio muito grande sobre dizer; não a escravidão moderna. O Benfeitor e Grande Patrono da QMA Sua Majestade Imperial O Ooni de Ifé que apoia a QMA diz não à iniciativa de escravidão organizada pela Princesa Ronke. Este apoio traz mais força a esta campanha?
PRA – Sua Majestade Imperial Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja II o Rei do reino de Ile Ifé é guardião das culturas e tradições Yorubás dá seu imenso apoio a todos os meus projetos. Ele é o grande benfeitor da iniciativa QMA.
EO – A princesa Ronke também organizou uma exposição de arte QMA em colaboração com as galerias Alexis?
PRA – A exposição foi organizada na galeria Alexis em Lagos b, trabalhando com artistas experientes como Tola Wewe para criar peças de arte que simbolizavam a lendária Rainha.
EO – Como foi ter a participação da alta comissária britânica Catriona Laing CB para a iniciativa QMA. Organizada pela Princesa Ronke?
PRA – Tivemos a honra de ter Sua Excelência a Alta Comissária britânica Catriona Laing como mentora de algumas de nossas jovens em sua visita ao antigo reino de Ifé. Algumas das coisas que ela destacou foi dizer às jovens que nunca desistam quando decidirem alcançar metas porque são mulheres.
EO – Sabemos da grande importância da Vossa Alteza Princesa Ronke Ademiluyi para a Nigéria. Aqui no Brasil temos também um mercado extenso na área de moda. São muitas criações também inspiradas no Continente africano. Existe alguma possibilidade da AFW se instalar aqui no Brasil?
PRA – Estamos entusiasmados por fazer parceria com uma organização no Brasil e traremos a marca África Fashion Week para o Brasil em breve, pois estamos cientes das muitas criações inspiradas na África no Brasil, então esta colaboração funcionará como uma grande troca de cultura entre a África e o Brasil, a África é um continente com até 3000 tribos e cada uma tem sua cultura de moda única.
EO – Recentemente a Princesa foi nomeada Embaixadora Global da Ayan Agalu?
PRA – Acabei de ser nomeada embaixadora global da Ayan Agalu, a patrona feminina da bateria. A Divindade Patrona do Tambor. A primeira pessoa que começou o tambor falante foi uma mulher. O festival Ayan, que também é conhecido como Festival do tambor, acontecerá no antigo reino de Ifé, uma oficina de identidade cultural, um círculo de tambores, oficinas de fabricação de tambores, seminários de preservação de tambores e responsabilidades dos bateristas em relação às mudanças climáticas.

In the royalty of Africa, an African kingdom. A princess in the business world. Ronke Ademiluyi is a real, real-life princess. It is an honor for me to be able to bring the history and professional trajectory to my country. She was born in a sacred cradle, which for many may be a legend, but in reality it is the pure truth. African fashion icon, Princess Ronke Ademiluyi is considered one of the most influential women in Africa and Europe. She makes history and redesigns the future of fashion in Africa and the business world. Ronke Ademiluyi is one of the most influential names in world fashion. Having a female lead on the African continent, Ronke Ademiluyi is visionary and empowered. She is a pioneer and innovator when it comes to the fashion industry and culture in Africa. The princess believes in the great potential of the fashion industry on the African continent. She gained notoriety in Europe when she created and founded AFWL the UK’s biggest annual African and Africa-inspired European fashion event. In Nigeria, the same model as the AFWN event was also created in order to showcase talented fashion designers who remain largely unknown, with the aim of strengthening and further developing the international competitiveness of the Nigerian fashion industry. She is a woman ahead of her time, who looks to her ancestral roots for more reasons to drive cultural, tourist and business growth in Africa. Princess Ronke Ademiluyi is CEO and Founder of Adire Oodua Textile Hub in Ile Ifé, South West Nigeria which has an ancient history of rich heritage within the African Continent. She is also vice president of the House of Oduduwa foundation, which is the official charity of Her Imperial Majesty Ooni of Ifé. Global Ambassador of Queen Moremi Ajasoro’s international QMA. She founded the QMA Leadership Program for Young Women. The Princess also works within school education. Where she was editor of the book the authentic story of the legendary Queen Moremi that is being used as part of the history and literature curriculum in secondary schools in Nigeria. She has also set up the AFWL Mentoring scheme for black fashion students in the UK in partnership with Northampton University in the UK. Princess Ronke is a recognized and famous writer, the work UNSPOKEN is a testament to the strength and African female monarchy. She is also co-author of the African fashion work The Eyes of Originality & Creativity. Within the culture, her works stand out in the executive production and creation of the production of the Queen Moremi musical that was watched by more than 30,000 people. Exclusive Interview for Brazil
EO – Who is Your Highness Princess Ronke Ademiluyi?
PRA – I am a princess of the Great Kingdom of Ife, where the Progenitor of the Yoruba race comes from. I am a great descendant of Oduduwa the Progenitor of the Yoruba dynasty.
EO – Tell me more about this dynasty?
PRA – Oduduwa was the 1st Ooni of Ife, the great ancient kingdom of Ife dates back to a thousand years ago and the Husband of Olokun and I came from that lineage.
EO – What about the ancient kingdom of Ife?
PRA – The Kingdom of Ife is one of the first kingdoms in Africa that had kings and queens and a royal dynasty, our royalty dates back to centuries before Christianity and this we can show through our Ifá scriptures.
EO – In Nigeria there are many tribes, and each of them has its royal family. What kingdom does Princess Ronke Ademiluyi belong to?
PRA – I am a fountain princess as Ife is considered the spiritual home and fountain of all of us black people, my great grandfather was a king of Ife and I have a close relationship with His Imperial Majesty Ooni Adeyeye Ogunwusi Ojaja II, the current King of the Kingdom de Ife and I work with him on so many projects, and today I am a cultural ambassador.
EO – Tell me about the importance of Ifá for Africans?
PRA – Ifá is the traditional African religion that we used to worship Almighty God before Christianity and Islam, it is as old as Judaism and in the same way that the Catholic religion has saints, we have the Orixás that act as our saints and interface between almighty God and man.
EO – Can the Princess tell us a little about the true history of royalty in Africa? I know that in Brazil as in other countries, there is an imaginary world when it comes to the African monarchy.
PRA – So our Monarchy of Africa dates back thousands of years, it was western colonialism during the dispute over Africa that deactivated most of the power of our kings and queens and also during the slave trade. Also when so many African royalty were captured and sold into slavery.

EO – Is there really female power within African royalty?
PRA – Yes, there is female power in African royalty that dates back to the 12th century, long before the West started installing women as monarchs. I recently wrote and published a book entitled Oba Obinrin, which showcases powerful Yoruba women who reigned as kings.
EO – I always knew about the existence of strong and powerful women in the African continent. Why, the media and society know very little about them?
PRA – My book was named Upspoken Oba Obinrin, due to the fact that her reign and great achievements were not talked about and many people in our generation do not talk about these great Ancient Women and that was one of the reasons why I decided to write a book about them , so that African women could be inspired by them.
EO – Is Queen Moremi’s conception of history an ancestral rescue in this sense? About female power within African history?
PRA – The Queen Moremi initiative was founded by Her Imperial Majesty to enable as a tribute to the legendary Queen, some iconic buildings and residences were named after her. And through this initiative was also created, a possibility to allow us to give back more in her name. I published a book about the legendary Queen Moremi, which is in the curriculum of schools in southwest Nigeria. The book was also adapted into a musical theater play.

EO – Princess Ronke Ademiluyi is the founder of Adire Oodua Textile Hub in Ile Ife, South West Nigeria. Tell us a little about the fabric’s history?
PRA – Adire fabric is an heirloom fabric that dates back centuries and is still relevant in our current generation, it is a beautiful technique that was created using different methods to create beautiful patterns on fabrics and using various resistance methods to resist wear and tear. dye when the fabric is eventually dyed. Resistant methods include the stitch resistant method, the wire knot resistant method, the wax resistant method and the starch resistant method. This ancient fabric creation technology allows us to create so many patterns, symbols and signs in our fabrics, and also allows us to tell different stories in our fabrics.
EO – The Princess is also the Global Ambassador of Queen Moremi Ajasoro’s international QMA. Tell me more about the QMA Global?
PRA – I created the QMA leadership program which is chaired by our Yeye Moremi Olufunso Amosun, the former First Lady of Ogun State. The program which includes a cultural contest, a training camp and winners of which emerge annually and are endowed with funds and skills that will help them become better young leaders in their communities and in the world at large. They also act as ambassadors for cultural exchange in the Yoruba Kingdom.
EO – The Princess has also created a QMA fund that educates and empowers young ladies in Nigeria and Africa. How does the education QMA fund work?
PRA – As part of the initiative, I created this fund that helps young women with scholarships and empowers young women with entrepreneurship scholarships.
EO – The campaign run by The Princess on April 25, 2020 with the QMA initiative to raise awareness against modern slavery and the trafficking of young women in Nigeria and Africa. Is it the beginning of some project?
PRA – Under the QMA initiative, we campaign against the modern slavery of young African girls, work closely with those who have gone through such a horrible ordeal, and help reintegrate them back into society. The first victim we worked with when we started this project in, who returned from the Middle East in 2016, is now a graduate and married. Under our education scholarship scheme, we were able to send her to the University, under our entrepreneur program, she received skills and funds to set up her own small-scale business.
EO – When we talk about QMA we have no idea how important and real it is within the African continent. How did the idea for QMA grants come about?
PRA – The QMA Entrepreneurship Scholarship is part of our program where we help young women with funding grants to help them in sustainable development. There are so many young people out of work right now and women are very vulnerable, so by helping them with the grants they can start their own businesses and have confidence. In the near future, we intend to create a QMA micro finance bank where women can access loans, as research shows that women are the best lenders, they always pay back.
EO – The Princess also had and still has great support for saying; not modern slavery. The Benefactor and Great Patron of the QMA His Imperial Majesty The Ooni of Ife who support the QMA say no to the slavery initiative organized by Princess Ronke. Does this support add strength to this campaign?
PRA – His Imperial Majesty Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja II the King of the kingdom of Ile Ifé is guardian of Yoruba cultures and traditions gives his immense support to all my projects. He is the great benefactor of the QMA initiative.
EO – Princess Ronke also organized a QMA art exhibition in collaboration with Alexis Galleries?
PRA – The exhibition was organized at the Alexis gallery in Lagos, b working with experienced artists like Tola Wewe to create pieces of art that symbolized the legendary Queen.
EO – How was it to have the participation of the British High Commissioner Catriona Laing CB for the QMA initiative. Organized by Princess Ronke?
PRA – We were honored to have Her Excellency the British High Commissioner Catriona Laing mentor some of our young women on their visit to the ancient kingdom of Ife. Some of the things she highlighted was telling young women to never give up when they decide to achieve goals because they are women.
EO – We are aware of the great importance of Her Highness Princess Ronke Ademiluyi to Nigeria. Here in Brazil we also have an extensive market in the fashion area. There are many creations also inspired by the African continent. Is there any possibility for AFW to install itself here in Brazil?
PRA – We are excited to partner with an organization in Brazil and will be bringing the Africa Fashion Week brand to Brazil soon as we are aware of the many African inspired creations in Brazil, so this collaboration will act as a great exchange of culture between Africa and Brazil, Africa is a continent with up to 3000 tribes and each one has its unique fashion culture.
EO – Was the Princess recently named Global Ambassador of Ayan Agalu?
PRA – I’ve just been named global ambassador for Ayan Agalu, the female patron of drums. The Patron Deity of the Drum. The first person who started the talking drum was a woman. The Ayan festival, which is also known as the Drum Festival, will take place in the ancient kingdom of Ifé, a cultural identity workshop, drum circle, drum making workshops, drum preservation seminars and drummers’ responsibilities in relation to changes climate.
EO – On behalf of the entire Grupo Editorial Le Afrique I, Eliana Oliveira, thank Her Highness Princess Ronke Ademiluyi for this frank and very pleasant conversation.
